County Line Speedway Rules 2009

1. The following Rules, Regulations, & Policies are drafted to promote kart racing in a safe and organized manner for all participants and competitors of " Lubbock Karting Association" (herein referred to as LKA). These Rules, Regulations & Policies are in accordance with the 2005 Tech Manual published by " Karters of America Racing Triad" (hereafter referred to as KART.

2. All Protests Must be submitted in Writing to the Competition Director or his designate. This is a privilege that is extended to SR. Drivers or JR. Drivers car owners Only!!!

3. Drivers and/or car owners are responsible for the conduct and safety of their crew and/or family members, while on the speedway grounds. Especially while in the pit area!!! Disruptive, Unruly, or Un-sportsman like conduct will not be tolerated by anyone, anywhere, anytime on the race facility grounds!!!! This type of behavior will result in your expulsion from the race track.

4. During a race event, the use of Alcohol or Illicit Drugs anywhere on LKA property by Drivers, Crew Members or car owners is ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED . Violators will leave the facility. The use of Alcohol or Illicit Drugs during a Race Event by anyone, anywhere in the PIT AREA is EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN, and will result in immediate expulsion from the Pit Area, if not the RACE TRACK GROUNDS.

5. Pit Passes are required for everyone entering the pit area. The cost of the pit pass is $10.00. Regular race entry fees for all racers in all classes is $15.00 for members or non-members. These prices are subject to change during "Special Event" Races. Contingency awards subject to "existing" LKA policies and guidelines.

6. All karts must pass a "Safety Inspection" and comply with the 2005 KART Technical Manual. Your kart will not be permitted to enter the race track without an inspection sticker on it. Also, any kart running practice laps before, during or after the race must be safety inspected and the driver MUST have a pit pass due to insurance regulations.

7. All racers and/or drivers are required to wear proper safety equipment, as specified by the 2005 KART Technical Manual anytime they are operating a kart at the race track. This includes 'Snell 2000' or better "full face" helmets, neck braces, gloves and abrasion resistant jackets, such as "Cordura, leather or specific built nylon karting jackets" are approved. The use of abrasive resistant "Kart Driving Suits" is strongly encouraged!!! NOTE: "NOMEX" or "Fire Resistant" apparel is NOT considered abrasion resistant!

8. Approved Mufflers are mandatory for all Racing Vehicles.

9. All weights are required to be Painted White and have the participants name or kart number on them. All weights must be attached via the 2005 KART Technical Manual specifications.

10. All karts that compete on the speedway are required to have a Black number on a White background, that is a minimum of 3" wide by 6" tall. NO more than two (2) digits are allowed. Please NO letters.

11. A minimum of three (3) karts shall constitute a class.

12. There will be NO racing during or under a caution. After a Caution Flag has been displayed, line-ups will be determined by the last completed lap's finishing order. Should a Caution Flag occur during the last lap, Re-start will be green, White, Checkered flag. Any driver causing a caution flag will line up at the rear of the field. Three (3) cautions flags caused by the same driver in a heat or feature race will result in disqualification from that race.

13. A driver who causes or is involved in a incident that requires a RED flag shall be sent to the pits, and will not be allowed to return to racing, until passing a safety inspection by track officials.

14. Once a class has left the grid area and has entered the race track, there will be no Re-starts on the race track, unless approved by track officials. Any kart/s left at the grid area will have three (3) pace laps to enter the race track before the start of the race. Once the green flag has dropped, the track will be closed for enrty.

15. Any Driver who enters the Pits during a heat or feature race MAY NOT Re-enter the race track. Drivers, Crew Members or Car Owners are NOT ALLOWED on the race track, nor permitted to work on their karts while on the race track, unless directed by race officials.

16. Driver who rash or spin out another kart, WILL BE DISQUALIFIED from the race, and possibly for that or subsequent events thereafter. The driving rule is "If you: CRASH, SPIN OUT or OTHERWISE IMPLIED another kart's forward progress AND gain a Position Advantage by doing so, You will be "BLACK FLAGGED" and GO TO THE PITTS!!! The Competition Director and/or his designate decision is final, and shall be without protest, written or otherwise.

17. Any Driver are Car Owner that refuses and/or fails Technical Inspection of Engine, Fuel, Chassis or Anything else being checked by the Competition Director and/or his designate, will be Disqualified from the event, forfeiting any money, trophies or points earned. Flagrant violations may also result in forfeiture of all Season Championship Points earned throughout the season as well as subsequent suspensions.

RACING FORMAT

1. 1st Heat Race Line-up will be determined by Season Championship Points, High points karts will start at the front, and lower point karts toward the rear, (Number Draw will be used if no Season Championship Points are available) 2nd Heat Race Line-up will be an invert of the 1st heat with the higher points karts starting in the rear of the field and the lower points karts starting in the front. During 'Mid-Season' and 'End-of-Year' Season Championship events Season Championship high point karts WILL start at the front of the 'A' Feature Race. 50 "Bonus" Points will be awarded to driver who "Clean Sweep" or win both Heat Races and the Feature Event for the day. NOTE: The Competition Director and/or his designated has the RIGHT to start a competitor at the rear of the filed for an event.

2. A maximum of Sixteen (16) karts shall constitute the 'A' Feature race. Starting field to be determined by 1st and 2nd heat points, with the top ten (10) high point karts for the event automatically qualified for the 'A' feature. All remaining karts will run a 'B' feature, starting positions determined by the 1st and 2nd heat points with the high point karts for the event starting at the front of the field. The top six (6) finishers in the 'B' feature will advance to the 'A' feature. Those who do not make the 'A' feature will be awarded Season Championship Points from seventeenth (17th) place on back for their participation in the 'B' feature event. Those karts that race the 'A' feature will receive Season Championship Points according to their finishing position from one (1) through sixteen (16).

3. Points shall be given to any legal competitor who takes the Green Flag, and Finishes the race under the Checkered. Any Driver NOT taking the Checkered Flag will not receive points for that race.

4. County Line Speedway will use the KART National Point System for all "Regular Points Event" held at County Line Speedway. Points are to be given equally for Heat races as well as Feature Races.

5. All Trophies, Money or other awards for the day's event shall be determined by the finishing order of the "A Feature Race" or "Main" Event for that day. Awards given based upon the number of entries: 3 karts in the class, 1st place awarded, 4-5 class entries 1st & 2nd places given, 6 - 10 entrants, top 3 places awarded, 11 - 12 entries earn 4 places, and 13 or more entries in a class will pay the top 5 positions.

6. Race and/or Practice Days will be held on the fourth (4th) Saturday of the month. Races to be held at Night until the outside temperatures at 6:00pm fall to or below 50 Degrees F. Day races will be held unless Noon time temperature is below 50 degrees F.

SPEEDWAY CLASSES

JUNIOR 1: Driver age 8-10. KART or WKA B&S Stock 5hp with .425 restrictor plate. Minimum weight 225 lbs. LEGAL BY THE RULES

JUNIOR 2: Driver age 10 - 12. KART or WKA B&S Stock 5hp with .500 restrictor plate. Minimum weight 275 lbs. LEGAL BY THE RULES

BRIGGS .575 CLASS: Driver age 12 - 15. KART or WKA B&S Stock 5hp with .575 restrictor plate. Minimum weight 300 lbs. LEGAL BY THE RULES

STOCK MEDIUM: Driver Age 15 & Older. KART or WKA B&S Stock 5hp. Minimum weight 340 lbs. LEGAL BY THE RULES

STOCK HEAVY: Driver age 15 & Older. KART or WKA B&S Stock 5hp. Minimum weight 360 lbs. Maximum Kart weight 200 lbs. LEGAL BY THE RULES

STOCK "SUPER" HEAVY: Driver 15 & Older. KART or WKA B&S Stock 5hp. Minimum kart weight 400 lbs. Driver must weigh 200 lbs in race gear without any other weights. LEGAL BY THE RULES.

"TILLOTSON"CLASS: Driver are 15 & Older. KART or WKA B&S stock 5hp. Legal "Super Stock 310 lbs" Legal "Blue Wazoom" 335 lbs. Legal "Limited Modified" 335 lbs. Legal "Modified" 380 lbs. Legal "Open" 400 lbs.

STOCK 2 CYCLE CLASS: Driver Age 15 & Older. Yamaha, Piston Port, 100cc Controlled, & ICA Reed. Yamaha 315 lbs. Piston Port 330 lbs. 100cc Controlled 345 lbs. ICA Reed 345 lbs. GAS & OIL ONLY

JUNIOR "SPRINT KART" CLASS: Per Current LKA Club Rules. Dirt Tires ALLOWED. NO OFFSET CHASSIS ALLOWED.

SENIOR "SPRINT KART" CLASS: Per Current LKA Club Rules. Dirt Tires ALLOWED. NO OFFSET CHASSIS ALLOWED.
