The 2011 LKA Sleepy Hollow Sprint Track Rules
Sleepy Hollow Raceway is Lubbock's premiere asphalt Sprint karting course, hosting events on the second weekend every month. We Have classes for Juniors from ages 5 to 15 such as Kid Kart class, Junior 1 Clone Class w .500 Restrictor 235lbs, Junior 2 Class w .550 Restrictor 280lbs. Senior classes 16 years and up Senior Clone 330lbs, YF 200 & Modified clone class 340 lbs Rotax Senior 365lbs or Leopard Tag 370 YHC & MG Yellow Tires, 125cc Senior Shifter no weight. There must be 3 or more karts too make a class. All karts must cross the scales at the end of each heat or no points will be awarded. It takes 3 karts to make a class.
Motor cross points system will be used to determine the end of the day winners. You must be a LKA member to receive Championship points for the end of the year awards.
LKA Sleepy Hollow Sprint Track entry fees are $25.00 per entry pit pass included for LKA Members and $35.00 per entry pit pass included for non members. If a driver enters 2 classes the second entry fee will be 5.00 cheaper because no pit pass will be purchased.
Snell 2000 Full Faced Helmets required this year all classes. No open faced helmets are allowed.
All Drivers must wear jackets of leather or abrasion resistant material (Cordura or nylon) and full length pants. Complete driving suits are preferred. Gloves and neck braces are also required. Any long hair must be tucked up inside the helmet or tucked in the driver's jacket. All Karts must be pre-teched for safety before entering the track. The Pit Steward will do this or he will assign someone. Entry fees will be paid before the kart can be Pre-teched. Entry Fees will be paid in the scoring tower. All people in the pits must have a pit pass and wrist band.
1. Number plates should be black numbers on white background, 6" Tall Numbers
2. All 4 Cycle Classes Must run RLV #4104 Silencers
3. All LKA 4 Cycle Classes will run Burris B44A tires
4. Tag-Rotax classes will run Bridgestone YHC or MOJO D1 , MG Yellows, 4.50 x 5 fronts and 7.10 x 5 rear Rotax weigh 365 lbs and Leopard weigh 370 lbs
5. TAG-USA Class will run Bridgestone YHC, Burris 55A or 44A, Continental CAB, Dunlop DBM, MG Yellow, or Vega Blue (SL5) Leopard weigh 360 lbs
6. Shifters are open tire
7. All weights must be bolted on with a minimum bolt diameter of 5/16 and the nuts must be safety wired or cotter pinned. The double nut process is allowed but not preferred. Any single weight weighing more that 7.5 lbs bust be attached by 2- 5/16 bolts that are safety wired or cotter pinned. The weight must be painted white and have the kart number or drivers name on it. Any lead shot must be inside the frame rails and completely sealed so it can not leak onto the racing surface. Duct tape is not allowed to seal frame rails.
8. All classes will run by IKF & WKA tech Rules.
9. The Rotax Class will run by the Rotax International Rules.
10. All oil should be placed in the barrels that are located by the scoring tower. There is absolutely no dumping of oil on the LKA premises.
CLONE “BOX STOCK” MOTOR RULES
1. Box stock Honda clone engine such as ARC Box Stock Project Yellow, Lifan, Grey Hound, Harbor Freight Blue, Jaing Dong, Yamakoyo or Blue Max .
2. Engine Description: Single cylinder, 2 valves, OHV 4 cycle Honda Clone only.
3. Gas only 87 octane.
4. No machining or alteration of parts is allowed unless specifically noted. All parts will be subject to comparison to a known Box Stock part (when performing a comparison check it shall be +/-.005” tolerance).
5. Combustion Chamber Volume: 26.5 cc minimum with piston @TDC, using prescribed procedure.
6. Cylinder Head Requirements: Must be OEM casting only. Porting and / or grinding shall not be permitted. Stock head bolts only.
7. Valve seats are allowed two angles 45 degrees and 30 degrees top relief.
8. Factory stock rocker arms and pushrods only.
9. Only box stock valve springs allowed. Max wire diameter is .698” with a maximum tension of 10.8 lbs at a height of .850”.
10. Valve train: Stock valve cover only with stock configuration gasket, no sealer.
11. Head gasket maybe aftermarket, must be stock configuration. No copper or aluminum gaskets allowed.
12. Bore and Stroke: Stock cylinder bore is 2.685” max. Stroke is 2.123” +/-.005.
13. Carburetor Requirements: Huayi or Rui*ing model carburetor only. Carb to intake sealer is gasket only no other sealer allowed. Main fuel jet may be drilled to a.042” NO-GO. Low side fuel jet circuit may be drilled to a .028” NO-GO.
14. Stock emulsion tube must be used and unaltered.
15. Choke may be removed and holes plugged or remain in place and fixed to stay in the open position. Choke bore .810” NO-GO. Venturi .615” NO-GO. Rear carb bore .751” NO-GO.
16. Floor or column mounted fuel tank allowed (stock tank to be removed).
17. Pulse type fuel pump allowed. Fuel pump must be pulsed from either the crank case or the valve cover.
18. Flat metal plate may be installed in the original tank location for the purpose of mounting the throttle linkage and fuel pump.
19. Aftermarket air filter adapter allowed (max length of 1.375”).
20. Ignition system: Box Stock system only and must be unaltered. Kill switch and low oil sensor may be disabled and removed.
21. Flywheel: Box Stock flywheel only with plastic fins. No alterations of any type allowed. Must run stock flywheel key.
22. Stock pull starter must be used.
23. Piston and Rings: Must be unaltered Box Stock only. No machining of piston and rings allowed.
24. Connecting Rod: Box Stock rod only. No machining of any type allowed. Stock rod bolts only.
25. Crankshaft Requirements: Box Stock crankshaft required. Machining, polishing, addition of material or other alteration of crankshaft is prohibited.
26. Stock factory timing gear mandatory and must be installed in original location. Crankshaft journal diameter is 1.180”-1.175” minimum.
27. Camshaft Requirements: Stock as cast camshaft only. Maximum running lift of .245” checked at valve as run.
28. Block Requirements: Block must remain stock as produced. Stub for governor may be removed and hole plugged. No machining of block allowed. Welding to the block shall be for rod damage repair only and may not constitute a functional modification.
29. Header and Muffler Requirements: RLV part number 5438C header required AND RLV part number 4104 silencer required. Pipe may be wrapped (recommended) with header wrap.
30. Clutch Requirements: Stamped steel drum shoe type clutches only. Noram GE, Hillard Extreme-Duty, Premier Magnum, Max Torque Box Stock Clone, Max Torque SS 6-Shoe, Hortsman Rhino.
31. Tire Requirements: Burris Tires only, models SS or B class tires only.
SLEEPY HOLLOW CLASS DETAILS
KID KART
· All Kid Kart Class participants shall be equipped with Kid Kart chassis and a Comer C-50 or C-51 stock motor. No modifications to the motor shall be allowed except aftermarket air filter.
· 89 tooth sprocket only allowed.
· Driver age shall be a minimum of 5 to 8 years old maximum.

JR I CLONE CLASS
· All JR I Class participants shall be equipped with Purple Restrictor Plate (.500 +/-.0002) between the carburetor and intake manifold.
· Weight with driver shall be a minimum 235 lbs. for sprint karts.
· Driver age shall be a minimum of 8 to 11 years old maximum.
· Burris tires only.
JR II CLONE CLASS
· All JR II Class participants shall be equipped with Blue Restrictor Plate (.550 +/-.0002) between the carburetor and intake manifold.
· Weight with driver shall be a minimum 285 lbs. for sprint karts.
· Driver age shall be a minimum of 11 to 15 years old maximum.
· Burris tires only.
ADULT CLONE CLASS
· All JR I Class participants shall be equipped with No Plate between the carburetor and intake manifold.
· Weight with driver shall be a minimum 330 lbs. for sprint kart.
· Driver age shall be a minimum of 16 years old.
· Burris tires only.
SHIFTER CLASS
· 125 CC Motor
· Weight with driver shall be open.
· Driver age shall be a minimum of 16 years old.
· Open tire rule.
ROTAX-LEOPARD CLASS
· Rotax or Leopard Motor
· Weight with driver shall be a open for Leopard, 365 lbs minimum for Rotax.
· Driver age shall be a minimum of 16 years old.
· Tires: Bridgestone YHC, MG-Yellow or MOJO-D1.
